Sophie Turner talks about where Sansa is headed to in Game of Thrones Season 7
With the Christmas season upon us, it's sheltered to state that winer is at long last here. Furthermore, as of the Season 6 finale of Game of Thrones, Winter has at long last come to Westeros also. The sixth season of HBO's fantasy drama was a real game changer, will tons of payoffs and fan theories finally coming to fruition. One major plot that Game of Thrones fans got to finally witness was Sansa Stark's rise to power and independence. After seeing her tortured by both the Lannisters and Boltons, Sansa finally came into her own and was presented as a real player of the Great Game. But what can we expect from Sansa in Season 7?
Sophie Turner, who we've seen grow up and play Sansa over the past six seasons, recently spoke to Vulture about the HBO series. Regarding Sansa's arc in Season 7, Turner was surprisingly wordy and open. She revealed the following,
Uh oh. It looks like Sansa and Jon's reunion might not be all sunshine and rainbows after all.
Season 6 contained the first Stark reunion in the series history, which was long overdue. Sansa and Jon united at Castle Black and began to plan their attack on House Bolton, and their plan to return to Winterfell. During this planning, Jon ignored Sansa's advice, and she eventually showed up to save the day with Littlefinger. The Stark victory put Jon at the head of Winterfell, and Sansa's role in the battle was swept under the rug. We saw her share a knowing look with Littlefinger, and now it appears that this lack of recognition and stripped power will affect Sansa's actions in Season 7.
Sophie Turner also addressed Sansa's smile in the wake of Ramsay's death, and what it means for her arc in the upcoming season. She said the following:
Now I'm excited. Sansa might be thirsty for more blood, which would be a fantastic change for the chronic victim. She's ready to kick ass in the final two seasons, and I'm ready to watch it happen.
Game of Thrones will be back in the spring of 2017.

At the end of the season, Sansa gets a taste of power --- and it's the first time that she's had that ever, really. She feels like it's deserved because she did so much for Jon and the North, so when she saves the day and doesn't get any recognition for it, it was like she had that first taste of power and then was immediately stripped of it. She was stripped of the respect that she really feels she deserves. She was trying to give her input to Jon and trying to be a collaborative leader, but it's difficult when it's a patriarchy and when there's sexism. It would be a real adjustment for Jon to listen to her and do what she says. So she was looking to Littlefinger like, oh, you're right. Maybe that pretty picture you painted of me on the throne and you by my side isn't such a bad one.

You wonder if it's just a smile because it's her first kill, because this man is out of her life, or whether she's going to get a taste for it. Whether she enjoyed it. Whether it's a power trip. But she definitely is a lot more powerful, and it'll be very interesting to see how she handles that coming up this season.
